Paso Robles and Templeton are laid back and friendly,
with a touch of the Old West. The rural lifestyle has attracted farmers,
ranchers, young families, retirees, and visitors - all seeking a quiet
respite from hectic pace of modern life.
Today, the city of Paso Robles is a vibrant mix of past and present with
a strong commitment to growth and progress. Thirty-five wineries and 135
vineyards thrive in this gentle landscape with elevations that vary from 700
to 1,900 feet. The wineries in this district are critically acclaimed and
many operate tasting rooms that are open to the public.
For golfers, the area has three championship courses, each set in
exquisite tranquil backgrounds, offering affordable rates and tee time
availability.
Each year, the city hosts the boisterous California Mid State Fair,
dubbed "the Biggest Little Fair Anywhere." Its two-week run in early August
features top name entertainment, a PRCA rodeo, and a variety of fun
activities for families.
South of Paso Robles is the historic town of Templeton. The tiny town
boasts Old West architecture and a variety of businesses catering to
ranchers and farmers.
